Hair Transplant Follow-Ups
After you have received a hair transplant you are not done with the procedure as a whole. There is more that needs to be done and looked into. Here is a list of follow-ups that many doctors need you to come back for.
24-hour checkup
Your doctor will want to see you 24 hours after your hair transplant surgery to look at your scalp at both the transplant area and the donor area to check for infection. Your bandage you left the clinic with will be taken off and replaced with a head wrap. A lot of people opt not to wear this head wrap because they do not want people to be aware of the fact that they just had hair transplants. If you choose not to, you may want to bring a loose fitting hat to wear.
Pain
After your transplant you will feel a little discomfort and depending on your pain level, this pain might be simple or excruciating. However, if the pain lasts more than 24 hours and does not get better you will want to let your doctor know so that he/she can look for an infection.

One week
After a week of rest and relaxation which most doctors put their hair transplant patients on you will be called back into the clinic to have your sutures taken out. Generally these are just tiny sutures that closed up the incisions in the donor area of the scalp. Most likely you will receive a small bandage just to take care of a small amount of blood that might come out, typically though that is not an issue.
Next session
Once you are good to go, your doctor will most likely schedule another session for the same process to happen again. There are typically 3-4 sessions through a year, depending on the amount of hair loss there has been.
